To highlight the merciful love of God during the Divine Mercy’s annual celebration this year, the Divine Mercy of the Catholic Church from the Apia Vicariate and the Moamoa Vicariate visited the children at the Campus of Hope during the weekend. This was the first time the Divine Mercy Group had visited the Campus and it was such a blessing to the children as they appreciate the love and support from various members of the community. It was a huge visiting group that added to the excitement of the visit for the children.
Bearing in kind and monetary donations, the Group spent time praying, dancing and fellowship with the children. It brought laughter, love and warmth as the Divine Mercy Group embraced the children and shared with them the merciful love of God.
Leading the Divine Mercy Group was Father Manuele Vito, including Deacon Tulolo & Telesia and Catechist Faatui & Tofatu of the Moamoa Fou Parish, Deacon Avia Misa and Honorable Faimalotoa Kika Ah Kau of the Sinamoga Parish, and members of the Divine Mercy from the Apia Vicariate [Matautu to Vaiusu], and the Central Vicariate at Moamoa Fou.
Food supplies such as taro, cartons of chicken, boxes of noodle and miscellaneous food supplies as well toiletries supplies were donated together with ST1,000 to assist with the daily caring of the children. During the taualuga by the Minister of Women Hon. Faimalotoa, ST900+ was collected and this was added to the Group’s donation for the children.
SVSG President Siliniu Lina Chang thanked the Divine Mercy for including a visit to the Campus of Hope in their charitable activities for this year’s celebration. “This is the first time the Divine Mercy had visited the Campus, and we hope it would not be the last. Looking after our abused and abandoned children is a collective responsibility, and on behalf of the SVSG Board, I thank you for honoring that responsibility.” Siliniu Lina Chang, SVSG President.
