Upon visiting the family of the latest domestic violence victim, no words can describe the sadness, the bitterness, the anger, the betrayal that the family is going through due to the brutal and horrific death of Fatima.
The mother is still in a trauma as she was the first one to see the horrific condition of her young daughter. She kept mumbling Fatima's name and repeatedly explained what she saw on the early hours of the deadly incident. Her family is worried about her.
As we are all going through this grieving period, SVSG has been vocal in getting out its message to mothers that are continuously in a domestic violence relationship, to please remember that we are here to listen and to help.
For this period itself, we have 15 young mothers calling up our Helpline just to talk about the violence they are facing. Helpline counselling is now provided, as well as face to face counselling in our office.
Wishing all your families prosperity and happiness and please keep safe.
